The 47th IEEE Semiconductor Interface Specialists Conference (SISC) was held on December 8-10th in the Catamaran Hotel, San Diego, CA, America. Professor Iwamuro, Professor Yano and Ph. D students (D2) Junjie An and Xufang Zhang attended the conference.
SISC is one of the best conferences in the research field of interface in the world. Professor Valeri Afanas’eV, one of the most brilliant specialists in the interface field delivered the welcome and opening remarks at the beginning on 8th, Dec. Many outstanding researchers all over the world introduced their researches which involve in the many different materials, such as 2D materials, Ferroelectrics, III-V, Ge, SiC, GaN and so on. Besides the oral presentations, poster presentation is also an important part, where researchers can discuss with each other deeply about their work.
Ph.D candidate (D2) Xufang Zhang made a short presentation and poster presentation titled as ” A Distributed Model for near-Interface Traps in 4H-SiC MOS capacitors” on December 9th. During the poster session, we showed our work and have been very close discussions with prestigious interface experts, which was a very precious experience.
Besides the good research experience, the limerick contest, the major highlights of the conference is held, which created a relaxed atmosphere. This conference supplied a grand banquet in the boat and we enjoyed the beautiful views over the sea. It was an unforgettable experience. Also, the city of San Diego is a tourist resort where we can see the sea and beautiful buildings, scenery and so on.
This year, about 60% of the attenders are students for the specialist conference. Therefore, let’s do the interface research better, and thus we can attend the high-level conference in the future, which should be a memorable experience.
