The 9th Annual IEEE Energy Conversion Congress & Exposition (ECCE 2017) was held on October1~5, in the Duke Energy Center, Cincinnati, Ohio, U.S.A. Dr. Isobe and his student Zhang (Ph.D. 1st year) attended the conference.

ECCE is one of the biggest international conferences in the field of energy conversion solutions over the world, the major topics include power electronics, drives, devices, applications and so on. 1504 digests had been submitted to the ECCE2017 conference and a total of 864 papers were accepted. All the papers were presented in the parallel oral or poster sessions.

Ph.D candidate Jiantao Zhang presented his work “Trapezium Current Mode (TPCM) Boundary Operation for Single Phase Grid-tied Inverter” during the ECCE2017 conference. Dr. Isobe also gave his presentation, titled as “Control of solid-state-transformer for minimized energy storage capacitors” during the conference. After the ECCE2017 conference, Dr. Isobe and Zhang went to the open campus in the Ohio state university, they visited the power electronics laboratory and attended the welcome party with the local students.
